Amy 2Last month I wrote about two former Bethany Children who returned to Bethany from their home in Australia. Sisters Amy and Rachel, whilst visiting Bethany, were persuaded on their last day in Talakag to wear traditional native costumes for a photograph as a souvenir of their visit.
I shall let my readers decide if the photographs were worthwhile.

I was so happy to see the picture of amalia on the bethany news. she was my child at cot. 3 before. She was a good girl, I missed her when she was adopted by the yarnolds. but I was happy too yha she was able to improved her life situation. her sister and brother were still small so they stayed
at the nursery.

Merian - its always good to see a Bethany child who returns to Talakag.Both girls have done well in their lives.

Interesting to see Bethany Christian Home online. I knew it to be Bethany Children's Home when I lived there. I wish you would post more pictures of the landscape of Sugar Creek and the cottages that were there. Or are they still there? Or have they been replaced? Is the school at the same location? Notice Merian Talampas posted comments here. I was a bridesmaid at her wedding. Also know Gregorio and Rosie. Are the Avilas still there?

Yes the school is still in the same location but some of the original Bethany Home cottages which were formally all made of wood have been replaced with new buildings due to deterioration etc.
The Avilas are no longer with Bethany. I will take some new photographs soon to let you see how Bethany looks today.
Merian Talampas. This is Tonia (Weeks)Thornton. I am a Bethany child. My parents are Doug and Janeen Weeks. We lived there for 10 months back in 1981. My sister is Reushann and my brother Shaun. anyways...I broke into tears seeing your name. Manang Merian...you use to cook all the time for us. Alma and I would cook on that outdoor little kitchen. Although I was adopted as in infant. I did return in 1981 for 10 months and again in 1998 for one week with my Dad and I brought my two girls. I have the warmest memories of Bethany Home and would love to reconnect with my Bethany family there.
I am so blessed to see pictures of the new look of Bethany. I want to go back...see it, breath the air and work with children. PLEASE, stay in touch with me.
